Pangolin FB3 and FB4 are the most important and powerful programmable hardware for lasers. They work together with QuickShow or Beyond laser software to make our laser shows better. But some people do not understand what's the difference between FB3 and FB4.

FB3:
1). Connection: Uses a USB connection to link the controller to the computer.
2). Operation: Requires a computer running QuickShow or Beyond software to control the lasers.
3). Cable: Relies on USB and ILDA cables for control, which can be cumbersome in larger setups.
4). Standalone: Does not have built-in memory or a display for standalone show playback.

FB4:
1). Connection: Uses an Ethernet cable for network control, allowing for simpler integration in larger or more distributed systems.
2). Display & Memory: Features a full-color LED display and on-board SD card memory.
3). Operation: Can operate in three main modes: Ethernet control from a PC, stand-alone operation via the SD card and LED display, or DMX/Art-Net control from a lighting console.
4). Network Features: Enables networking and support for Art-Net, DMX, and OSC protocols.
5). Advanced Capabilities: Supports features like pixel mapping, an expanded laser show library, and remote app control.
6). Simpler Cabling: Simplifies setup by eliminating the need for multiple USB and ILDA cables by using Ethernet for control.
